Description

This internship is the right career beginning for any student who would like to build a career in the hospitality industry. The research skills attained will be helpful in the process of diploma work writing as well as in future professional activities. The internship at HVS will be advantageous for any curriculum vitae.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with industry research and publications
(Conduct industry research pertaining to economic trends, supply and demand statistics, property tax, local development initiatives, comparable hotel sales, and prepare presentation materials, etc...)
• Participate in research projects
(Research, compile, and analyze data such as hotel ground leases, capitalization rates, etc...)
• Contribute to assignments
(Research, enter data, prepare analyses and report sections)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Aptitude for financial analysis
• Proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheet and email programs
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
• Ability to respond to changing and sometimes ambiguous situations
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team to meet individual and office objectives
• Ability to take initiative in assessing research needs and following projects through to completion without daily supervision
• Legally able to work in the US without sponsorship. If you cannot work in the US without sponsorship, please do not apply for this position

As an intern, you will be responsible for supporting different members of the Consulting & Valuation team. Below are some of the tasks and benefits that you will have as an intern:

Tasks and benefits:
• The work will be varied and project-based, with some additional tasks that will depend on clients’ needs
• You will enhance your research skills by conducting market research, competitive analysis, and some financial analysis

• Fieldwork may be required, although the majority of time will be spent in the office
• You will gain an understanding of the valuation process
• By completing market analysis research, you will become familiar with the hospitality industry at large
• Bachelor's degree is not required

Summary:
Provide project support to professional staff while obtaining experience and training in a hotel consulting firm.

Education/Experience:
Minimum two years of undergraduate hotel management study with a GPA of 3.0 or above or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Hours:
• 8-week internship
• Four days a week (8-hour days)
• $20 per hour
